Beyond academia, I have represented Lebanon in international climate negotiations, as the first negotiator to discuss carbon markets under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and the Technology work programme at the Conference of Parties (COP).

I have also worked with international organisations to bridge technical research and policymaking, and I actively advocate for an equitable energy transition in the MENA region, with a particular focus on empowering women in STEM.

Through public speaking, conference leadership, and youth engagement initiatives, I strive to connect rigorous research with real-world climate solutions that are both ambitious and socially just.

Bseisu Grantee at Imperial College London, 2023

I am a PhD candidate at Imperial College London affiliated with the Grantham Institute – Climate Change and the Environment.

My study is the first to develop a novel spatio-temporal Market Intervention Viability Assessment Model (MIVAM) to evaluate how current market-based mechanisms drive commercialisation of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) globally, with an emphasis on de-risking investments and creating a positive tipping point for decarbonisation. By combining energy systems modelling, economic analysis, and real-market simulations, I aim to identify policy tipping points that can catalyse sustainable industrial transformation.

I am the first Lebanese woman and PhD student from my department to win the Student Award for Outstanding Achievement for 2025, chosen by the university President.
