Sondos
University of Glasgow, 2025-2026
Sondos is a postgraduate student from Palestine at the University of Glasgow, pursuing a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics as a recipient of both the Chevening and Bseisu Scholarships.
With an academic background in biology and molecular genetics, she is interested in bridging computational analysis with experimental research to advance molecular biology and cancer studies. Sondos aims to pursue a PhD and a long-term career in academia and research, contributing to the development of bioinformatics education and biomedical research capacity in Palestine. Through her work, Sondos seeks to enhance scientific innovation and healthcare by integrating advanced bioinformatics approaches into molecular and cancer research.
After completing her studies, she plans to go back to Palestine and collaborate with fellow researchers in her field to contribute to improve research infrastructure in health-related issues.
“During my studies, I realised how essential computational skills are for modern research and noticed a clear lack of bioinformatics expertise in higher education institutions in Palestine. This led me to pursue a Master’s in Bioinformatics to build the skills needed to bridge this gap and contribute to advancing research and education in my country.”
